         Welcome to Kahlil Gibran School !  Our school, from its foundation, has stressed academic excellence.  Our goal is to provide the best education possible for each student.  Our school's success rests on parental input and involvement, therefore, it is imperative for us to work together as partners in your child's education.

Our Mission
        The staff and parents of the Kahlil Gibran Elementary School are committed to establishing a safe, positive environment for learning.  Our curricula will reflect diversity of cultures to enhance the development of each student.  This will be accomplished through our Reading Writing Magnet Programs.  Our students will be literate and productive citizens.  Our expectations for academic excellence are high.  Students are taught in a challenging environment that encourages creativity, participation and involvement. This philosophy is enhanced through positive open lines of communication with each child, parent, teacher and school administrator.  Higher order thinking is encouraged to assure each child's future success.

The Extended Learning Program will begin
Monday, February 2nd and continue until Thursday March 26, 2015.   

Please refer to the following days, times, and grades:

3rd grade will meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 3:15 – 4:30.

4th & 5th grades will meet on Mondays & Wednesdays at 3:15-4:30. 

Please be advised the 6th grade students will meet:  
Tuesdays/ Wednesdays with Ms. Romano for Math at 3:15 – 4:30
Tuesdays/ Wednesdays with Ms. Dillon for ELA at 3:15 – 4:30. 

7th/8th grade will meet for Math & ELA on Mondays/Thursdays at 3:15 – 4:30  

*There will be NO BUS TRANSPORTATION. All students will be dismissed from the cafeteria, therefore, please plan to arrive by 4:15pm to pick up your child.    

*If your child is not picked up on time, he/she will be dropped from the program. Also, any student who has a behavioral issue in class will also be removed from the program. 

ELA State Assessments will take place on Tuesday April 14th - Thursday April 16, 2015.
MATH State Assessments will take place on Wednesday April 22nd - Friday April 24, 2015.
